Lend Me A Tenor
Henry Saunders, the general manager of the Cleveland Grand Opera Company, is primed to welcome world famous Tito Morelli, the greatest tenor of his generation. Through a hilarious series of mishaps, however, when the star arrives to play the role of Otello, he is accidentally drugged and passes out. In a frantic attempt to salvage the evening, Saunders persuades his assistant Max don the Otello costume in his place. When Morelli reappears in his own costume, there are suddenly two Otellos on the loose, and two lingered women pursuing them, each thinking she has won the heart of the celebrity.
A sensation on Broadway and in London's West End, this madcap, comedy is guaranteed to leave audiences teary-eyed with laughter.
Lend Me A Tenor was directed on Broadway by Jerry Zaks, and in London by David Gilmore.
